A terrifying crime doco about the devastation that can occur when disinformation is interpreted as the truth by impressionable minds. In 2014, two 12-year-old girls from the US lured a classmate into the woods and stabbed her 19 times. Apparently, the girls had fallen under the spell of Slenderman, a macabre internet meme centred on a non-existent boogeyman. Interviews with police and family associated with the case complete a disturbing portrait of how dangerous long periods of unsupervised online access can be.
