Nothing weak about my fortnight

Herald Sun - Motoring - - Front Page -

IT HAS been a fast and furious fortnight. First there were V8 Supercars at Eastern Creek in Sydney, then the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park with everything from a crash-fest Formula One finale to the biff-andbash action of the V8 Supercars and the antics of everyone from the Celebrity Challenge racers to the Aussie racing-car speedsters.

But that’s not all. I have been visited by a BMW M3 and a Porsche Cayman in the past week. And there has been some seriously quick and enjoyable driving.

It started with a dream drive at Sandown Park raceway in the Bugatti Veyron.

You can read the report on the $2.7 million, 400km/h car on Page 20 today. But it did not stop there. I was asked to race a BMW Z4M (left) against a V8 Supercar V8 and a Formula One car during breaks at the AGP.

And I was at Mount Panorama a couple of days ago to hot-lap a choice selection of MercedesAMGs, as well as ride with Mick Doohan and German touring car champion Bernd Schneider.

You will have to wait for the words on those, but every moment was a hoot and a buzz and a privilege, and I can’t wait to share these memorable events.
