I AMal­ways in­trigued by your scor­ing sys­tem and am of­ten chal­lenged by what I con­sider to be slightly lower scores than I might have given. Can I ask a hy­po­thet­i­cal? If you had to score a car 100, what would it look like or be clos­est to? Chris email No car that has been through a cars­Guide test gets bet­ter than a high 80, and that in­cludes the Bu­gatti Vey­ron, which I would mark down to about 84 be­cause of its $2.7 mil­lion price, lousy fuel econ­omy and lit­tle things like man­ual seat adjustment. Ev­ery car has its flaws and I tend to start high and come down, al­ways com­par­ing cars with their di­rect ri­vals. The high­est marks re­cently have gone to the HSV Grange and Mercedes-Benz C63, but I also rank a wide range of cars in the 80-plus group. Ed
