QITOOK delivery of a 60th anniversary Captiva in June. I selected the diesel as I live in the country and travel long distances. I paid the extra $3000 as I believed Holden’s claim of 8.5 litres/100km and believed I could get even better. After 8000km the best I have achieved is 9.9 litres/100km. Ian Kennon

AYOU’REnot alone in your concerns about the Captiva’s fuel economy. We’re getting lots of complaints from owners of diesel Captivas. We recently received a letter from an owner who claimed his Holden dealer had reflashed the memory in his car as a factoryendorsed fix for the problem, but that seems to be a little off the mark. Holden doesn’t have a fix for the fuel consumption problem and hasn’t been reflashing memories.
