COOKING WITH GAS

Herald Sun - Motoring - - Special Report -

QI’DLIKE to tell you about my experience converting my D22 Nissan Navara V6 to gas with a Tartarini gas-injection system. I couldn’t be happier. It used to cost about $18 for 100km on petrol and now it costs me less than $8 for 100km on gas. The system is so good I have not noticed any power or torque decrease, so my advice to anyone with a diesel Navara is trade it in and get a new D40 petrol Navara. You save about $10,000 on the purchase price (compared with diesel). Then convert it to gas for about $2000 after the government rebate and start reaping the rewards. Gas is better for the environment, a cleaner fuel to handle, has car-like performance and huge towing ability and is a lot better on the hip pocket. Joe Restall

email gas is an attractive option and the numbers now favour LPG over diesel. Repco recently opted to go that path with Mitsubishi Tritons and reckon the petrol engine running on LPG is cheaper than going with the diesel alternative.
