Ford sales slip

Ris­ing fuel prices in the US have hit sales of Ford ve­hi­cles so hard it has lost a place in global rank­ings. Volk­swa­gen Group has moved into third place, be­hind Toy­ota and Gen­eral Motors, based on sales in the first half of the year, which were up 7.2 per cent to 3.31 mil­lion ve­hi­cles, against 3.22 mil­lion for Ford.
