Supercars roaring back at Phillip Island
THE V8 Supercars are back. After a six-week midseason break the series springs back into life with the L&H 500 at Phillip Island. It is the first race in the Season of Endurance and will be the warm-up event for next month’s Bathurst 1000. And for the first time two drivers will team up in each car.
This is the first time a touring-car endurance race has been held at Phillip Island since the 1970s and a new format is expected to shake things up. Saturday will feature two 15-lap sprint races for each driver with the combined results setting the grid for Sunday’s 500km main event.
Plenty of support races will be provided by Carrera Cup, Mini Challenge, Touring Car Masters and Formula Fords.
