Volvo even friendlier
Volvo has launched a new generation of low emission engines in Europe, making Volvo trucks 100 times cleaner than they were just 20 years ago. A measure of the progress truckmakers have made in that short time lies in the fuel consumption. A 40-tonne truck consumes five times more fuel than a current sedan, but it transports 20 times the weight. To further underline its commitment to reducing the impact of its trucks on the environment Volvo is offering engines that already meet the European EEV (Enhanced Environmentally friendly Vehicle), a voluntary framework of regulations with even lower emission levels than Euro 5.
