Citroen has launched its new Berlingo van with two versions. They share a common wheelbase, but one has a longer rear overhang, giving it a larger cargo area. The shorter model will take 3.3 cu mor 850kg of cargo, the longer one 3.7 cu mor 750kg. Even more cargo can be squeezed in if the front passenger seat is folded. Both are available with petrol and diesel power. The 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine has 66kW at 5500 revs and 132Nm at 2500 revs. The 1.6-litre turbodiesel fourcylinder has peaks of 66kW and 215Nm at 1750 revs. Both engines are linked to a five-speed gearbox. Standard equipment includes a trip computer, cruise control, airconditioning, remote central locking, power windows and mirrors, and an MP3 compatible radio/ CD sound system. Prices range from $22,990 for the short body petrol model to $26,990 for the long body diesel.
