Tamworth adds MK6
THE Tamworth Regional Council has added a UD MK6 to its fleet of more than 80 trucks. The MK6 ticked all the right boxes for the council with its fuel efficiency and emissions compliance, and is being deployed in concrete maintenance and flood mitigation work. Accordingly it has been fitted with a crane unit, toolboxes and a tipper body. ‘‘Our trucks often have to cover a lot of territory so reliability and fuel economy are vitally important,’’ Tamworth technical officer for plant and supply Jason Love says. ‘‘In terms of reducing our carbon footprint, the council looks at every aspect of the truck’s operation, from fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions to the length of oil change intervals and overall efficiency,’’ he says.
