Volvo boss goes home
PETER Hertinge is returning to Sweden after five years at the helm of Volvo Commercial Vehicles Australia. He will take up a position with Volvo Trucks International Division. Hertinge oversaw the merger of Mack into VCVA, moved Volvo headquarters from Sydney to Brisbane and watched as many longterm and valuable Volvo employees left the company. He was also in the chair when Mack sales plummeted last year. Arne Knaben will replace Hertinge in September. Knaben was previously the managing director of Volvo Truck Centre, Denmark. Changes are also in the wind at Hino, with the retirement of John Conomos and the departure of Junsuke Ando.
