Norway’s good oil

Herald Sun - Motoring - - Bikes -

THE power race hit the road when the first 700-horsepower Volvo FH16 700 was delivered to its Norwegian owner. The truck will be used in long-haul work carting equipment for the oil industry in the west of Norway. ‘‘The reason we chose the FH16 700 is that we haul loads of up to 50 tonnes,’’ excited owner Tore Asse says. ‘‘The roads are often narrow and there may be kilometre-long gradients of between six and 10 per cent, so you can never really have too much power.’’
