BRISBANE-based food service distributor Queensland Frozen Food Services has added six Hino 500 medium-duty trucks, taking to 27 its fleet of Hinos. QFFS is happy to be an all-Hino fleet, managing director Bob Peberdy says, because the trucks offer quality and fulfil his company’s needs for useability and service. Using a common freezer body on all trucks adds to the flexibility of the QFFS operation. ‘‘All staff can drive all the trucks in our fleet, and are very pleased with the improvements in the latest trucks, which make them safer and easier to use,’’ Peberdy says. The latest trucks are GH 1727 models with 190kW common-rail turbodiesel engines, anti-skid brakes, hill-start and cruise. They’re available with six-speed and nine-speed manual gearboxes, as well as an automatic transmission. The GVM is 16,000kg, with a GCM of 32,000kg on manual models.
