THE top man at Porsche, Wen­delin Wiedek­ing, has fallen vic­tim to his overly am­bi­tious plan to take con­trol of Volk­swa­gen. He was forced out, de­spite lead­ing Porsche to in­cred­i­ble suc­cess and prof­its thanks to the Cayenne SUV, be­cause the sportscar maker could not com­plete its fi­nan­cial com­mit­ments without sup­port from Volk­swa­gen.
