VOLVO has upgraded its electronic stability control and can now handle 6x2 and 4x2 rigid trucks with one or more trailers. The new system is now capable of handling everything from prime movers to multi-trailer combinations. Volvo’s Carl-Johan Almqvist says: ‘‘Single-vehicle crashes in which the truck rolls over or drives off the road account for half of all truck crashes involving fatalities or severe injuries, so reducing the risk of roll-overs and jackknives is an important measure in cutting the number of truck crashes.’’
