Truck company in limbo

Herald Sun - Motoring - - Front Page -

The future of International trucks in Australia remains in limbo at it awaits a decision by its American parent, Navistar. The uncertainty follows Navistar entering a joint venture with Caterpillar last year. At the time it was announced International would be marketed through Caterpillar dealers, which cast doubt over the local deal with Iveco. Rumour is that local distribution will be taken over by Transpacific Industries, the importer and distributor of Western Star and MAN trucks, with the local distribution of Western Star possibly acquired by Daimler Trucks.
