Keep on trucking
TWO million trouble-free kilometres is a long, long way in any language, but for four Hino trucks owned by Bourkes Transport in Taree, NSW, it’s little more than a spin around the block. All four have topped two million kilometres delivering newspapers along the coast between Sydney and Brisbane, and are still going strong. The trucks travel an average of 400,000km a year and stop only for driver changes and servicing. No major components in any of the trucks have been replaced or reconditioned— the biggest repair on any vehicle was a front brake lining replacement for one of the FD Ranger Pros.
