Herald Sun - Motoring - - Special Report -

JAPANESE electronics giant Panasonic and Tesla Motors are collaborating to develop next-generation lithium-ion batteries. Tesla, the only carmaker building a highway-capable electric car, will use Panasonic’s battery cells in its newest battery packs. The cells use nickelbased lithium-ion chemistry, the highest-energy-density battery cells produced today.
