Ashok’s new plat­form

IN­DIAN truck­ing com­pany Ashok Ley­land has launched its new truck plat­form in Delhi. Called the U-Truck, the base will be used for Ashok Ley­land’s en­tire range of trucks, which the com­pany says will be com­pletely re­placed by the end of 2013. Ashok Ley­land is In­dia’s sec­ond-largest truck­maker and has two plants in In­dia with a pro­duc­tion ca­pac­ity of 150,000 units a year. Big Wheels un­der­stands Ashok Ley­land has no plans to ex­port trucks to Aus­tralia.
