A WIN at the Nurburgring track has focused timely attention on the M3 badge just as BMW gears up to launch the M3 GTS.

A factory-supported BMW GT2 beat some serious contenders over the gruelling Nurburgring 24-hour race, a benchmark of endurance racing.

The Team Farnbacher Ferrari F430 GTC grabbed second place, with Audi’s R8 LMS in third after a series of problems undermined their one-two grid positions.

The spotlight was also on the Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3R hybrids, which ran well early in the race but had their hopes dashed when one car was involved in a collision and the other blew an engine.
