THE Aus­tralian Truck­ing As­so­ci­a­tion is await­ing an­swers from po­lit­i­cal par­ties on sev­eral key is­sues af­fect­ing the in­dus­try.

The ATA sent 20 ques­tions to the Lib­er­als, the Na­tion­als, La­bor and the Greens cov­er­ing topics such as truck stops, reg­u­la­tion, safety and bet­ter roads. The de­tails will be posted on­line to­day.

ATA chief ex­ec­u­tive Stu­art St Clair says: ‘‘By pos­ing our ques­tions to the par­ties, we are giv­ing peo­ple in the in­dus­try the facts about what is be­ing promised.

‘‘They will then be able to make up their own minds for the fed­eral elec­tion on Au­gust 21 on which party of­fers the best deal for their busi­ness, their jobs and their liveli­hood.’’
