THE truck touted as the loudest in Britain will be on show in Victoria for the first time this weekend at the Melbourne leg of the national 2010 Auto Salon show.

Melbourne Showgrounds will host the Vibe Dredd Truck (below), along with more than 200 other highly modified vehicles from around Australia, as the city gears up for the country’s largest automotive lifestyle show and contest.

The black-and-yellow Vibe Dredd Truck was originally a prop car; a huge taxi in the movie Judge Dredd featuring Sylvester Stallone. Only three of the trucks were built and the other two are owned by Stallone.

Vibe Audio spent more than $130,000 transforming the Dredd Truck into a subwoofer speaker port.

The world’s lowest LandCruiser will also feature at the show. Twisted Metal’s notorious LandBruiser (above) is lower than a regular LandCruiser and has to be seen to be believed.

Auto Salon will run from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Family entry $60, adults $29, children under-13 $15, under-5s free.
