Go-ahead for the PriusG
A NEW hybrid will soon join the Toyota range in showrooms.
The car was previewed as the Prius G at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January and is headed for full-scale production.
The Prius G has a 30mm lower ride height and aero parts for a more slippery profile as well as larger brakes and 18-inch wheels.
In an attempt to appeal to a different and younger type of customer, expanding the Prius’s overall appeal, the G will also incorporate stiffer suspension and lose 20kg in kerb weight, with some subtle detailing inside, including a red gear selector.
Expected in Japanese showrooms by the middle of next year, but with no news on sales in Australia, the G pack will cost about $3500 more than a regular Prius.
