Denise Roberts, star of Cops L.A.C

Myfirst car was . . . A second-hand 1971 Hillman Hunter that cost me $400. It had no reverse gear and because I lived in New Guinea, it was too hard getting the part I needed. So I would drive around and around to find a car spot that I could drive into and out of, but when I couldn’t I would have to push it into parking spots that required me to reverse. Even though pushing it out of car spots was inconvenient, I loved it. It went like a bat out of hell and it gave me no grief.

Since then I’ve driven a . . . Holden Monaro 253 V8, Ford Escort, Honda Prelude and a Mazda MX5 limited edition. I loved the Monaro, it was green with a big black stripe up the bonnet and across the roof down the back. I loved all my cars. They just got old and tired.

Inowdrive a . . . 2010 Mazda MX5 manual with an electronic roof. I use the aux in the radio to talk on my mobile, but everyone complains that they hear themselves speak. But I don’t care as long as I can hear them.

Mydream car would be an . . .

Aston Martin so I could catch James Bond.
