New Holden hatch a hit

Fer­lazzo can’t say much yet about the hatch, but says pre­view pic­tures have al­ready won praise on mo­tor­ing blogs and web­sites.

‘‘It will be mostly a Euro­pean and Asian ve­hi­cle. It’s not for the USA, yet,’’ he says. ‘‘But we’re en­cour­aged and even grat­i­fied by some of the blogs from the US, say­ing they’d like to see it in the States.’’ And what about the car it­self? ‘‘We’ve taken a sedan body style and given it a re­fresh­ing hatch look. If you didn’t know you’d think the hatch came first,’’ Fer­lazzo says.

‘‘We’ve been able to main­tain a fast coupe roofline but still with com­pet­i­tive cabin space. I think that will be quite ap­peal­ing.’’
