10,000 stuck trucks
IF YOU reckon Australian traffic is bad, just be thankful you’re not driving in China. News reports reveal thousands of coal trucks were backed up for several kilometres on the Beijing-Tibet Highway earlier this month. Yes, you read that right, thousands of coal trucks. This is the latest in a series of enormous traffic jams that have plagued the route since construction began earlier this year on a new highway that runs alongside it. It’s estimated about 10,000 trucks were stuck in the snarl.
