Steve Harper, the pres­i­dent of Toy­ota Ma­te­rial Han­dling Aus­tralia (TMHA), is tak­ing early re­tire­ment. Harper cut short his ca­reer af­ter suf­fer­ing an in­jury re­quir­ing lengthy re­cu­per­a­tion. He has spent 35 years work­ing for Toy­ota. In 1975 he joined Thiess Toy­ota, a com­mer­cial ve­hi­cle im­porter. A 20-year stint with Toy­ota Aus­tralia was fol­lowed by 15 years with TMHA — the cur­rent mar­ket leader (based on Aus­tralian In­dus­trial Truck As­so­ci­a­tion re­sults) through the sales, hire and ser­vice of Toy­ota, BT and Ray­mond prod­ucts.
