Chief bows out
Steve Harper, the president of Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA), is taking early retirement. Harper cut short his career after suffering an injury requiring lengthy recuperation. He has spent 35 years working for Toyota. In 1975 he joined Thiess Toyota, a commercial vehicle importer. A 20-year stint with Toyota Australia was followed by 15 years with TMHA — the current market leader (based on Australian Industrial Truck Association results) through the sales, hire and service of Toyota, BT and Raymond products.
