Training for riders
A rise in the road toll among motorcyclists has focused attention on the need for better rider training. The Honda Australia Rider Training Centre at Somerton has intermediate courses on Sunday, November 21 and Friday, December 10, with an advanced course on Saturday, November 27. Stay Upright is holding an intermediate course at Hoppers Crossing on Sunday, November 28 and an advanced course at Broadford on Tuesday, November 23.
Off-road riders can lift their game by attending the BMW Motorrads Adventure Bike skills courses at the Werribee 4x4 Proving Ground next week. The two-day courses cost $675 and will run on Monday-Tuesday and Wednesday-Thursday. Topics include how to lift a motorcycle in awkward situations, slow-speed manoeuvring and control, cornering, braking and dealing with obstacles. Go to www.bmwmotorrad.com.au
