LUCK has turned around for Australian Marcos Ambrose with a 12th place in a dramatic Texas 500 NASCAR race at the weekend. After several weeks of mechanical failures and crashes, Ambrose brought his Toyota Camry home unscathed for his best Sprint Cup result since Richmond at the start of September. The race featured a fist fight between Chevrolet drivers Jeff Burton and Jeff Gordon, while Kyle Busch spun his Toyota, was penalised for speeding in pit lane and docked two more laps for an inappropriate gesture towards an official. The race was won by Denny Hamlin (Toyota), who now leads the Chase for the Sprint Cup ahead of Jimmie Johnson (Chevrolet) with only two events remaining.
