BIKEMAKERS rolled out their latest machinery at last weekend’s Melbourne Bike Expo with a bunch of models making their Australian debuts.
Suzuki gave sportsbike riders a preview of the GSX-R750 (above) ahead of its arrival next year.
Ducati showed off its radically styled Diavel cruiser and BMW managed to convince the German head office to ship over its K1600 GTL powered by an inline six-cylinder engine. Triumph took the wraps off its 1050cc Speed Triple naked bike and Kawasaki had the acclaimed ZX-10R sportsbike on its stand.
Honda released the CBR250R in Australia. Aprilia had its Dorsudoro 1200 on show. The expo was also the venue for the launch of a scooter company. California Scooters is being imported by Magnum Custom Motorcycles, the company that sells the Pro One custom choppers. California Scooters are 150cc single-cylinder bikes priced from $6995.
