THE Truck Industry Council has announced Simon Humphries has been appointed chief technical officer. He joins after a stint as business manager at Wesfarmers Evol LNG and replaces Terry Pennington, who has retired. He will be responsible for coming up with the council’s technical position on issues, as well as the promotion of truck manufacturers to government and industry groups. Chief executive Tony McMullan says: ‘‘Simon is a dynamic and passionate individual who brings considerable experience and technical knowledge to the role. He is respected by transport industry colleagues.’’ The Canberra-based group promotes the views of truck manufacturers, importers, and engine and component suppliers to policy makers.
