FOR­MULA One pro­tege Filipe Al­bu­querque has scored a shock win in the Race of Cham­pi­ons in Ger­many over three-time win­ner and seven-time world rally cham­pion Se­bastien Loeb. The event fea­tures 16 lead­ing driv­ers in a va­ri­ety of race dis­ci­plines. Aus­tralia was rep­re­sented by five­time world mo­tor­cy­cle cham­pion Mick Doohan, who failed to reach the eight-driver knock­out stage. A for­mer win­ner, Fin­nish F1 driver Heikki Ko­valainen, took a pre­cau­tion­ary trip to hos­pi­tal af­ter be­ing knocked out in a crash.
