Big war deal
THE war in Afghanistan means more business for Navistar. The American truckmaker has a deal to supply another 175 mine-resistant trucks (above) to the US military. The contract, worth $125 million, raises its 2010 order of armoured patrol vehicles to more than 1500. The trucks are called Mine Resistant Ambush Protected trucks or MRAP and were initially developed to protect troops in Iraq. Since 2007, Navistar has sold more than 8000 MRAPs for the US and allies.
