G Town ready to Rum­ble

AT GEE­LONG’S Avalon Race­way a great field of speed cars is set to con­test the first G Town Rum­ble and mod­i­fied pro­duc­tion sedans will com­pete for the time-hon­oured West Coast Clas­sic to­mor­row night.

Also on the pro­gram are the V8 dirt mod­i­fieds and the De­mo­li­tion Derby.

Avalon com­men­ta­tor Brian Alexan­der says: ‘‘We have speed­car com­peti­tors com­ing from Syd­ney to take on Vic­to­ria’s best for the G Town Rum­ble.’’

Aus­tralian speed­car cham­pion Nathan Smee leads the nom­i­na­tions, along with the very speedy Matt Smith from New South Wales, Har­ley Bishop, Troy Jor­dan and Travis Mills.

Lo­cal ace and for­mer na­tional cham­pion Mark Car­lin is the de­fend­ing West Coast Clas­sic cham­pion. Gates open at 4.30pm, rac­ing from 7pm. Adults $25, conc $20, 12-16 $10, 5-11 $5, un­der 5 free.
