G Town ready to Rumble
AT GEELONG’S Avalon Raceway a great field of speed cars is set to contest the first G Town Rumble and modified production sedans will compete for the time-honoured West Coast Classic tomorrow night.
Also on the program are the V8 dirt modifieds and the Demolition Derby.
Avalon commentator Brian Alexander says: ‘‘We have speedcar competitors coming from Sydney to take on Victoria’s best for the G Town Rumble.’’
Australian speedcar champion Nathan Smee leads the nominations, along with the very speedy Matt Smith from New South Wales, Harley Bishop, Troy Jordan and Travis Mills.
Local ace and former national champion Mark Carlin is the defending West Coast Classic champion. Gates open at 4.30pm, racing from 7pm. Adults $25, conc $20, 12-16 $10, 5-11 $5, under 5 free.
