Europe price probe
THE European Union competition watchdog is investigating the possibility that some of the world’s biggest truck-makers have been working together to control prices. The EU recently launched information gathering raids on the world’s largest truck-maker, Daimler, and the second largest, Volvo. Scania, MAN and Iveco have also been told they will be part of the probe. The EU says it had reason to believe some truck companies may have violated rules that are set up to prevent prohibitive business practices and/or the abuse of a dominant market position.
