Hino helps clear air
JAPANESE brand Hino has made the switch to the new ADR83/03 emission standard for 2011.
Hino had already introduced a refreshed 300 Series that complied with the new emission regulations in the middle of last year and has now rejigged its 500 Series and 700 Series.
The big 700 Series has switched across to selective catalytic reduction technology that uses a urea-based substance to help treat the exhaust gases.
Hino says it is so clean it will enable the engine to even pass the next round of emissions standards based on the Euro 6 rating.
