Renault into rubber

Herald Sun - Motoring - - Motorsport -

FEW car companies get around to rolling out their own tyres but Renault says it makes strong business sense. It has launched its Motrio brand of after-market products, including tyres, in the UK and plans to spread the parts around the world. Renault’s Motrio range is made by Continental and — surprisingly — won’t be fitted to its new cars. Rather, it will be an after-market offering to replace worn tyres and designed to maintain the car’s initial ride and handling characteristics, Renault says. The Motrio range also includes batteries, brakes, servicing parts, engine oil, antifreeze and wiper blades.
