I AMclose to buying a new car and am deciding between the Skoda Octavia Ambiente and Scout models in diesel wagons.

I have noticed in the commercials on TV the need for curtain airbags in vehicles. As the Skoda models in question do not have curtain airbags or side airbags in the back of the vehicle, my question is: How critical are curtain airbags?

I’m mostly thinking of my daughter in the back seat. If the need for them is critical, I will consider other vehicles.

MAXIMUM safety should be a top priority for any car purchase, and curtain airbags do make a difference in the back seat. Skoda’s press information says its Octavia and Scout wagons have six airbags, and that includes the side curtains.
