We have just bought a demo- model Subaru Forester. We are using the premium unleaded petrol, 95 octane. This is my wife’s car which she uses for work three days a week and does the school run, so does about 10,000km a year. Can we use standard unleaded petrol and would we cause problems changing to standard unleaded fuels? Would we notice any difference between the two unleaded fuels on this type of driving?

Subaru Australia says there is no real issue in changing to standard unleaded fuel, although it may increase the fuel consumption ever so slightly. You should not notice any difference in how the Forester drives.
