AUSTRALIA’S very own supercar will take another step closer to full-scale production at the Australian International Motor Show.

The JOSS JP1 was first shown as a prototype at the Melbourne Motor Show in 2004. Now the company is ready to let enthusiasts take another look into the future with a display featuring a computer-generated preview of the new car.

Visitors will also be able to inspect its evaluation vehicle and see a wind tunnel model prepared for testing, as well as various components from its technical partners.

The JP1 has been moving ahead steadily since 2009 when JOSS Developments opened its technical centre in Melbourne.

‘‘We had an amazing reception for our JT1 prototype in Melbourne several years ago, but building a car business is very involved,’’ JOSS Developments technical director Matt Thomas says.

‘‘So JOSS Developments has spent the past few years working on the business so that when we launch JP1 the company will be geared up to deliver a great product to the market.’’
