The Holden Racing Team driver steps out of his V8 Supercar to chat to Richard Berry
1 Let’s start with some word association. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when I say: Mitsubishi Pajero: Parked on the side of the road. Honda Jazz: Girl’s car Ford Falcon: Last year BMW740i: Old man
Chrysler 300C: Drug dealer Toyota Prius: Greenie Nissan GT-R: Rice rocket
Holden Commodore: Winner
2 First car you owned? The first car I owned was a Datsun 1200 Ute. I bought it with my own money, and as you do when you’re younger you soup it up, so I put a 4AGZE supercharged 1600 thing in it. It went pretty well for a little old ute, that’s for sure. 3 What’s your current drive? HSV Senator. I reckon it’s an unbelievable value-for-money car. It’s competing against 5 Series BMWs and Mercs and it’s less than half the price. It’s come a long way in the past few years— I’d definitely buy one.
4 Which car are you embarrassed to say you like? Awww, what would it be? I’d probably say the new Camaro. Russell Ingall just bought one. I think they look pretty good but I’d never admit it to him because I always shoot him down about it.
5 What car would you abolish and why? The Mitsubishi Magna. Whenever I see one I get angry, I don’t know why. I just really dislike them for some reason. Sorry to all the Magna-owning readers out there!
