WHATIS IT? Opel Corsa WHYTHE FUSS? German starter car WHEN’S IT HERE? Late this year HOWMUCH? About $17,000 THE entry Opel is the weakest link in the local line-up but that could change with a muchneeded facelift package. The biggest change, according to Carparazzi, is a total rework of the old-fashioned and low- quality interior. The Corsa also gets a new face, taken from the Adam baby car, and there could be more power when the car arrives towards the end of the year.

Paul Gover This good-looking super coupe is the new two-door S-Class. It comes as the replacement for the CL but with more style and driving enjoyment, as the S-Class — which Carsguide drives in July — is stretched to fill the space previously occupied by the unloved Maybach. The 2010 Carsguide COTY gets the most minor of updates to celebrate the halfway point in its life. The only obvious changes are around the nose, with a modified air intake, but the Polo is likely to get a value boost before it follows Golf into a total overhaul late in 2014. Here is the first look at the C55 that will headline the all-new C-Class line-up in 2014. Still wrapped in camouflage and based on the current C-Class body, it packs the 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 already fitted to a range of AMG models including the SL63.
