WHAT IS IT? Mini Clubman WHY THE FUSS? Next in the Mini family

WHEN’S IT HERE? Late 2014 HOW MUCH? About $35,000 We’re not expecting too much change on the new Clubman, following the unveiling of a lookalike third-generation Mini Cooper at the Los Angeles motor show last month. These cars, on a trailer near Munich, look production ready and the double-hinged rear doors point to the fivedoor Clubman package. The big changes are likely to be, as in the Cooper, in refinement and cabin quality.

Codenamed S205, this is the station wagon version of the all-new C-Class that’s coming from Mercedes-Benz in 2014. It is clearly a conventional wagon and not a CLS-style shooting brake. In common with the sedan, the new wagon has evolutionary styling trickling down from the latest S-Class flagship.

We’ve already had one peek at the updated Toyota Yaris but now Carparazzi has caught the 2014 model up close and in detail. Changes are expected only in the front and rear styling — the all-over camouflage could be misleading — with Toyota waiting until 2015 for a complete model change that could include a collaboration with Mazda on a new Mazda2.

We’ve already got a new X5 from BMW and here comes the inevitable follow-up, the second-generation X6. The general look of the new SUV coupe is unfortunately the same as the wagon, but Carparazzi reports the camouflaged tail end slopes away more to make it more car-like and less confronting than the current X6.
