HOW RED BULL GIVES THE RENAULT CLIO WINGS

Herald Sun - Motoring - - Australian Grand Prix -

THE latest pocket rocket Renault Clio RS is exactly like a grand prix car. It’s downsized in the engine room, greener and more efficient, but still a hoot to hustle. The Clio RS shows what happens when F1 technology from Aussie hero Daniel Ricciardo’s Red Bull racer is mixed and matched with the latest developments in road car efficiency. It’s the latest chapter in a story that links road cars with racers, right back to the early days of disc brakes, fuel injection and aerodynamic add-ons and alloy wheels. Every driver can thank F1 for something in their car and that’s only going to accelerate after 2014 as nextgeneration technology, including systems that harvest heat from turbochargers, is transferred from grand prix cars into road-going hybrids.
