AU­GUST 19-21 OUT­DOORS EXPO

The Na­tional 4x4 Out­doors Show, Fish­ing & Boat­ing Expo is on at the Mel­bourne Show­grounds. A huge num­ber of 4x4s, rang­ing from the big flashy mod­els to the out­back tour­ers and work­horses will be on show. The Isuzu D-Max Team is bring­ing the world’s steep­est 4WD ramp, the Isuzu UTE Iron Sum­mit, sit­ting at 45 de­grees. Lucky show vis­i­tors will have the chance to go for free rides on this mas­sive ramp. Eagers Holden Colorado is also giv­ing show vis­i­tors the chance to prac­tice and learn how to use their 4x4 to its max­i­mum on a va­ri­ety of sur­faces to sim­u­late be­ing off the beaten track, in­clud­ing a sand trap, wa­ter cross­ing and com­pact rock seg­ment, along with an ar­ti­fi­cial steep hill. The FE FC Holden Car Club’s an­nual auc­tion and pie night, Boro­nia Progress Hall, 134 Boro­nia Rd. Items on auc­tion in­clude rare, in­ter­est­ing and use­ful Holden new/old stock parts, col­lecta­bles and mem­o­ra­bilia dat­ing from 1948 to 1978 on­wards, plus stall tables full of bar­gains. AUTO CLAS­SICA

The Mal­ing Road Traders As­so­ci­a­tion is host­ing the Mal­ing Road Auto Clas­sica in Can­ter­bury, with the road closed to dis­play about 80 clas­sic Euro­pean cars, vin­tage Ves­pas and Lam­bretta bikes. The 2014 Mo­tor­clas­si­caw­in­ning clas­sic bike and 2015 Mo­tor­clas­sica-win­ning car will be there. The traders will have an area for lo­cals to dis­play their cars, plus fes­tiv­i­ties, fairy floss, food and more. The event is from 10.30am-3pm.
