MUS­TANG RIDES TO TOP

Ford’s Mus­tang has be­come the most pop­u­lar sports car in Ger­many, top­ping 6000 sales and eclips­ing lo­cal favourites the Porsche 911 and Audi TT. The Mus­tang is also the most pop­u­lar sports car in South Africa, the UAE and Saudi Ara­bia.

Some US states per­mit use of mo­bile phones while driv­ing, pro­vided you’re not tex­ting. New York po­lice now want “tex­tal­y­sers” to check phone ac­tiv­ity — which many re­gard as an in­fringe­ment of their rights. Some 46 states pro­hibit tex­ting while driv­ing and 14 pro­hibit any use of hand­held phones. It’s had lit­tle ef­fect, with phone-use fines in Cal­i­for­nia jump­ing from 3000 in 2009 to more than 31,000 last year.
