Maryborough Wings and Wheels historic sprint is on at the Maryborough Airport. It is open to cars up to 1982. There will also be classic vehicle and historic aircraft displays. MODEL T FORD RALLY
The Model T Ford Club of Victoria is hosting the National Model T Ford Rally from today until October 2 at Lardner Park. On September 28 motoring enthusiasts are invited to join in the fun on the tour’s open day. Public entry is gold coin donation or raffle ticket purchase. Model Ts will be participating in driving events, other vintage cars and machinery will be on display, as well as related automobilia vendors. There will also be a vintage fashion parade. HISTORIC HILL CLIMB
The Historic Rob Roy Hillclimb, 375 Clintons Rd, Christmas Hills, conducted by the MG Car Club, is open to all those interested in getting involved in motorsport. No previous experience or competition licence required. You will be assigned an experienced mentor on the day to guide and encourage you. Bring your own car. Entry is $60. The West Ivanhoe Sporting Club is hosting its first classic car and motorcycle display in conjunction with the club’s annual fundraiser family day. MODEL T FORD SHOW
A restored 1922 Holden-bodied Model T Ford will be unveiled at Trafalgar Holden Museum. The vehicle, which has been painstakingly restored by volunteers, will take pride of place at the museum, which features a vast collection of Holden cars and memorabilia from the company’s early days as a leather goods manufacturer to the present. While original Model T vehicles were painted black, the vehicle on display at the museum has been painted red and white — traditional Holden colours. The museum is at 74 Waterloo Rd, Trafalgar and is open from 10am-5pm weekends and public holidays. It is also open on weekdays by appointment. Entry: $10 adults, $25 families. Details: 5633 1684.
OCTOBER 1 MURTOA’S BIG WEEKEND
Rock ‘n’ roll is the theme of the weekend and Melbourne guest band, Robyn and the Rancheros, will perform throughout the weekend.
