HOT ROD & COOL RIDES SHOW The 52nd Vic­to­rian Hot Rod & Cool Rides Show is Aus­tralia’s long­est run­ning hot rod event and re­turns to the Royal Ex­hi­bi­tion Build­ing with over 150 of Aus­tralia’s best hot rods, street ma­chines, cus­toms and mo­tor cy­cles com­pet­ing for over $50,000 in tro­phies and prizes. TRAC­TOR PULL & TRUCK SHOW If trucks, mod­i­fied trac­tors or burn out cars are your thing, head to Rut­ter Re­serve, South Gipp­s­land High­way, Tooradin, for a trac­tor pull and truck show. Kids mini trac­tors will also make an ap­pear­ance. There will be full cater­ing and bar fa­cil­i­ties avail­able, no BYO, no glass. CAR & BIKE SHOW The 2nd An­nual North­ern Show & Shine is open to all Veteran, Vin­tage, Clas­sic, Mod­ern Cars and Bikes, with 52 tro­phies up for grabs. There are in­di­vid­ual cat­e­gories for Holden, Ford, Chrysler, Amer­i­can, Ja­panese, Euro­pean and British cars. Spe­cial cat­e­gories for Best Panel Van, Util­ity, Hot Rod, Monaro, GT, Corvette, Ca­maro, Charger, To­rana, HSV/FPV, SS & Cus­tom­line. Round 2 of the Vic­to­rian Hillclimb Cham­pi­onship will be held at Rob Roy. The event will fea­ture over 80 of the state’s top com­peti­tors as they take to the sec­ond old­est pur­pose built hill climb track in the world at Clin­tons Road Smiths Gully /Christ­mas Hills. All are wel­come to come, stroll among the cars, talk to the driv­ers and see the ac­tion close up. Full cater­ing is pro­vided on site. Make the most of the Gipp­s­land Ve­hi­cle Col­lec­tion’s ex­tended hol­i­day hours and view the Baja Bug un­til the end of Fe­bru­ary. Named after the renowned Baja 1000 Desert Race in Mex­ico, Baja Bugs are the cut-down, re­mod­elled, big brothers of the Volk­swa­gen Bee­tles. GRAMPIANS RIDE Reg­is­tra­tions are now open for the an­nual Grampians Ride to Re­mem­ber. The 196km ride is open to all li­censed mo­tor­cy­cle en­thu­si­asts, with pro­ceeds sup­port­ing the Ja­son Bond Pe­ri­op­er­a­tive Unit at East Grampians Health Ser­vice (Ararat Hos­pi­tal). Cost is $30 a rider/pil­lion, which in­cludes bar­bie lunch, com­mem­o­ra­tive badge, show­bag and bottled water at the end of the ride. The RACV Great Aus­tralian Rally ral­ly­ing for a cure will be held at Morn­ing­ton Race­course.
