Honda has joined the grow­ing push to five-year war­ranties in Aus­tralia. Its whole range has new cov­er­age of five years/ un­lim­ited kilo­me­tres. But there is still no move­ment on sub-par ser­vice intervals of just 12 months/10,000km.


“VIP 2020” is the new bat­tle cry at Hyundai, which is mea­sur­ing lo­cal suc­cess in terms of vol­ume, in­no­va­tion and profit. The com­pany has used many other slo­gans, stretch­ing back to the 1990s when “GT10” re­flected its am­bi­tion to be­come a global top 10 car brand by sales vol­ume.


Skoda’s hottest model, the Oc­tavia RS 245 wagon, will be­come a per­ma­nent mem­ber of the Czech brand’s line-up when it re­turns in the third quar­ter. It comes with 180kW and a me­chan­i­cal lim­ited-slip dif­fer­en­tial and is part of a plan to el­e­vate Skoda as a wagon brand in Aus­tralia.
