The family-sized Mazda CX-9 is about to get a tweak and tickle, with the promise of a quieter cabin and better driving. The mid-life upgrade to the Japanese seven-seater is promised with six new countermeasures to cut noise and the addition of torquevectoring technology to improve cornering feel.

Upgrades are usually the domain of airlines but Infiniti has two this week to boost the popularity of its cars. Anyone buying a baby Q30 Sport will get a $7000 upgrade to the Sport Premium and buyers of the Q50 GT from $53,900 will get an $8000 upgrade to the Q50 S Premium model.

A first aid kit is a great addition to any car, and the St John Ambulance has a wide range suitable for all cars and trips. The kit starts from about $54.95.
